This webinar is a small group interactive session in which we explore the affect of Amoxicillin (an antiobiotic) on my own gut microbiome. Using an Invivo GI EcologiX stool test, 2 weeks after finishing a course of this drug I am keen to get an understanding of how the drug may have effected the diversity and relative abundance of the commensal bacteria residing in my gut. We will discuss the potential impact of the drug and interventions designed to resolve any imbalances. At the point of writing, I am waiting for the test results to be returned and I will be fascinated to share the results and my thoughts on how, in general we can keep our gut microbiome in a happy place post antibiotics.

To note, I am not negating the use of antibiotics and was extremely grateful for the positive impact they had on treating an extremly painful infection. The aim of the webinar is to explore the impact of antibiotics on the gut microbiome and share my thoughts on what to do post treatment with these drugs. It is lso important to consider that everyone's gut microbiome is unique. This is my gut journey which I hope we can learn from.
